Company compensation data
Company Sales Engineer Salaries: Advertised Pay Database
Employer-level pre-sales pay, built from attributable public job postings rather than scraped averages. Where we do not have enough postings, the page says so.
Updated August 2026
Coverage
Current coverage of the advertised-pay database.
| Employers tracked | Attributable postings | Ranges published | Awaiting evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 0 | 0 | 5 |
Publication threshold: 3 attributable postings before an advertised range appears, 8 before an employer graduates to a full benchmark page with level and location cuts.

How a posting becomes a record
What each record has to carry before it counts.
Every observation stores the employer, the job title exactly as advertised, the employer's own level label where stated, the location, the band as written, whether the band includes variable pay, any equity language, the posting date and the URL it was read from. Bands that include commission are never compared with base-only bands, and a posting without a published range is not stored as a zero.
If you are hiring against one of these employers, request a benchmark for the exact level and metro. If you are interviewing at one, what sales engineers earn nationally is the more reliable anchor than any single advert.
Based on our placement data
Why this database is separate from our salary benchmarks
An advertised band is a hiring intention. A verified offer is what somebody was actually paid. Aggregator averages are neither. Mixing them is how company salary pages end up quoting numbers nobody can trace, so we keep three source classes apart on every page and label which one each figure came from.
For the national picture — base, OTE, split and attainment — start with our sales engineer compensation benchmark.
Advertised bands are collected from employer careers pages and attributable job boards; medians come from our verified offer dataset.
Read this alongside the national sales engineer salary data, which is the benchmark every cut on this page is measured against.
If the title on your job ad is "solutions engineer" rather than "sales engineer", the solutions engineer salary page is the closer comparison.

Methodology
Figures are medians drawn from placement records, offer letters and employer briefs across the last 12 months, expressed as 25th–75th percentile ranges. Base is fixed cash; OTE is base plus variable at 100% attainment, excluding equity. Read the full methodology.
