What we collect when you request a benchmark, why we collect it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms: the role and seniority you're hiring, the location and industry, your company name, your work email address and your hiring timeframe. We also collect standard, aggregated analytics about page usage.
Why we collect it
To prepare and send the compensation benchmark you requested, and — where you've told us a role is live — to follow up about candidate availability. We do not sell your data or share it with third-party advertisers.
How long we keep it
Benchmark requests are retained for 24 months so we can compare year-on-year bands, then deleted. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing privacy@salesengineersalary.com. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
Cookies
We use a single local-storage entry to remember your light or dark mode preference, plus privacy-respecting analytics. No advertising cookies.
Read this alongside the national US sales engineer pay data, which is the benchmark every cut on this page is measured against.
If the title on your job ad is "solutions engineer" rather than "sales engineer", the solutions engineer salary page is the closer comparison.
Methodology
Figures are medians drawn from placement records, offer letters and employer briefs across the last 12 months, expressed as 25th–75th percentile ranges. Base is fixed cash; OTE is base plus variable at 100% attainment, excluding equity. Read the full methodology.
